On the one hand, Prague is the city filled with old world European charm; on the other, the Czech capital is one hell of a party destination. If the latter is your goal in visiting Prague you’ll want to stay at one of these party hostels. Why? If you’re travelling with a group you want a place to stay in Prague that will support your lifestyle: late nights and rowdy returns home can bother neighbours. 4. The Clown and Bard

The Clown and Bard offers an excellent location nearby plenty of cafés and bars, making it a prime location for late nights. This establishment has been open since 1995, which means they know what keeps hostel-goers happy—and that includes two-for-the-price-of three happy hour drinks starting at 7pm. All of the drinks are served to live music in their classy 1920s jazz-style basement bar.

The Clown and Bard is located in the Zizkov neighbourhood, breakfast is available (but not included in the price), there is free WiFi at reception, and no curfew. They may not have the most comfortable beds nor is the 36-bed dorm the quietest place, but the point of staying here isn’t to sleep!

3. Hostel ELF

Hostel ELF is located approximately a 20-minute walk from the Old Town Square but it really gets you into the spirit of travelling. The fridge is full of cheap beer, and they serve a free buffet breakfast with coffee and tea available all day. Like any good party hostel, Hostel ELF has an on-site bar with a very social atmosphere—the perfect place to visit if you’re travelling solo.

The hostel is clean, in a good location, and offers a lounge and terrace to chill in. People love this place and always leave with new friends!

2. Czech Inn

If you want to be outside the tourist zone in one of Prague’s best hostels then the Czech Inn is for you. They are consistently praised for the cool design, its laidback vibe, and hip design. The rooms are modern (including rain dance showers, hello!) at budget-friendly prices.

The BASEMENTbar is an unpretentious underground pub serving beer, wine, and if you really want to get crazy, absinthe! The Czech Inn organizes pub crawls, quiz nights, and live music events for all of their hostels stayers. This is one of those hostels where you’ll plan to stay for three nights and end up staying seven! The best part about this place is their very generous 12pm check-out time—perfect for when you want to keep the party going to your last day.

1. The MadHouse Prague

Their tagline is “We all like to get a little crazy from time to time”—surely that says everything you need to know about this place! While partying is their number one priority, not far behind is the family atmosphere. They want everyone to feel at home so The MadHouse organizes beer pong, hostel dinners, alternative tours trips to beer gardens and hockey games, and of course, pub crawls.

They put effort into the atmosphere—encouraging laziness with comfy sofas and WiFi all over the hostel—and the décor by having the entire hostel painted by Montreal street artists Pito and Guko. The MadHouse is consistently one of the highest rated for experience, facilities, and location. If you want to embrace the madness, this is the place to book!
